It is a great pleasure to serve as the general co-chairs for the 10th International Conference on Nuclear Plant Instrumentation, Control, and Human-Machine Interface Technologies (NPIC & HMIT 2017), June 11-15, 2017 at the Hyatt Regency San Francisco in San Francisco, California.

Sponsored by the American Nuclear Society (ANS) Human Factors, Instrumentation and Controls Division (HFICD), this topical meeting is the premier forum for nuclear instrumentation and control (I&C) and human factors engineering professionals to meet with leaders in industry and academia, gauge the state of the technology, exchange information, and discuss future directions.

We anticipate a spectacular turnout for NPIC & HMIT 2017 with diverse participation from industry, government, and academia. We have an exciting opening plenary, featuring keynote addresses from distinguished high-level government officials and executives of nuclear utilities and vendor organizations, and we have a great technical program of over 250 papers and presentations from all over the world.
